SKETCH TUESDAY ~ "Sparkle, Sparkle Jewellery"

Colourful ring
It's "Sketch Tuesday!"  You may recall this week's assignment was to draw some jewellery.  Alisdair went to the Skye Silver website and looked at some of the Celtic rings.  He drew one, as best he could, with a pencil and then took his watercolour paints and embellished the design with precious stones.  The result is an attractive piece of jewellery ~ almost like a family ring.  You can view the rest of the participants contributions at "Sparkle, Sparkle Jewellery."

Skye Silver is located at Colbost (near Dunvegan) on the Isle of Skye.  We have visited their showroom and workshop in "The Old Schoolhouse."  In fact, Alisdair has a small silver shell created by these craftsmen.  It's an interesting place and well worth a visit.  Their slogan is "home of the original jewellery from Skye."

Next week's challenge?  Participants are asked to "draw something with claws" but are reminded that "Harmony Art Mom" doesn't allow entries with violence or gore.  Maybe Alisdair can draw another ring ~ after all, my diamond has four claws!  Obviously "Harmony Art Mom" is a woman who enjoys a good pun!  You can enter by emailing a likeness of your sketch to sketchtuesday@yahoo.com before 9 p.m. PST on Monday, March 28th.
