Star Phoenix Carrier Begins Employment

Alisdair wanted to earn some extra money and I wanted him to learn about responsibility and to have a strong work ethic.

And so, he has (as of today - October 19th) taken over the Saskatoon Star Phoenix paper route for the Village of Neilburg. The newspaper publishes daily from Monday to Saturday. They do not print an issue on Sundays or statutory holidays. There are currently 24 papers on most weekdays but there are three people who take the paper only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - for a total of 27. The papers are to arrive on our doorstep before 7 a.m. and they don't have to be delivered until 5 p.m. weekdays or noon on Saturdays. However, it would be nice to get them disbursed early in the day for the convenience of both the subscribers and ourselves.

Alisdair has gone with the previous paper person when he did his deliveries on five afternoons but I am still supervising him as he gets familiar with the job.

So now we are on both ends of the publishing industry - writing articles for publication and delivering the finished product to the doorstep!
